Ouch! The dancing continues

but with aches and pains

We’ve all seen the humorous “30+” and “over 30” Rave memes that poke fun at the unique challenges of dancing and enjoying the scene as we get older. While these memes are often filled with laughter, they also reflect a deeper conversation about age and belonging in the Rave scene. Interestingly, the 40up group was born out of a comment thread on one such meme in a Lost Lands group.

But why has turning 30 become synonymous with an end to our passion for music, dance, and community? It’s a question that many of us ponder.

As proud members who are “slightly” over 30, we acknowledge that enjoying events now can be a bit challenging at times. Physical recovery might take longer, and late nights can feel a little longer, but we refuse to let age define our love for the music or our involvement in this incredible community. Our passion remains undiminished, proving that the joy of raving transcends age.

We celebrate the memories we’ve created, the friendships we’ve forged, and the music that continues to inspire us. Together, we embrace the dance floor, proving that Raving is not just for the young — it’s a lifelong celebration! Let’s keep the energy alive and show the world that our love for the Rave scene only grows stronger with time.

The Struggle is Real

We patterned our aches and pains list after the Periodic Table, but a funnier version centered around the physical struggles of dancing the nights away, including a few helpful reliefs. Keep dancing, but also keep your health in mind!

We created a pdf file of the the table and chart for you to download to spread some helpful humor. We also added a link below to see the full aches and pains table, or Raverodic Table. Just click the button at the bottom of the page to see it on t-shirts and more.
